The Palaungic Peoples
WHO ARE THEY?
There are many different types of Palaung with separate languages and customs in the Mekong Region. They are Theravada Buddhist and animist; each village having a temple to earn merit at and a village spirit to appease. Less than 1% of the Palaungic peoples follow Christ.
Our team is currently engaging two Palaung people groups in Myanmar.
WHAT IS GOD DOING?
Our team is equipping national coworkers in Myanmar to run the Palaung Freedom House drug rehab project. Christ is delivering Palaung people from drugs and growing them as disciples and as the start of the Palaung church there. Bible story sets are beginning to be recorded in the Palaung language and shared with people in Palaung villages for the first time.
PRAY:
That God will work powerfully through the Freedom House drug rehab project to grow healthy Palaung disciples and churches God will open the door for one of our teammates to move to Myanmar and engage them from that side
May God bring his kingdom among and through each Palaungic people!
