Tai Lue

WHO ARE THEY?

There are about 1.5 million Tai Lue people worldwide living in China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam. They are Theravada Buddhist and animist; each village having a temple to earn merit at and a village spirit to appease. Less than 1% of the Tai Lue people follow Christ. They live in the lowlands and have a higher economic status than the peoples of the mountains.

WHAT IS GOD DOING?

Our team is working with Tai Lue disciples to help them grow in their relationship with God and make disciples among their people and beyond. God is helping them persevere through village and government persecution. They are learning Bible stories in their language, sharing them with others, and looking for people of peace to open the door for their households to hear the gospel and begin to follow Christ together.

In China, we have a cross-cultural national team engaging the Tai Lue. In Laos, we continue to work with a local church we planted and together are preparing to use the Freedom House drug rehab project as a bridge for church planting. With difficult access to Myanmar, God is working through social media platforms as we post Tai Lue testimonial videos and follow up with people who He has prepared and are seekers.

                                                                                                                                           That our national coworkers in China will find bridges for the gospel and empower local coworkers in planting healthy reproducing churches                                                                                                                                                                           That our Lao coworkers will see God work powerfully through Freedom House to deliver captives and work through them to build His church                                                                                                                                                                              God will work through the social media strategy to bring people to Himself and raise up national coworkers on the Myanmar side with God’s heart and vision for the Tai Lue people and beyond
